Design Manager pricing in 2026: $79 per user, and every user counts

Design Manager publishes one rate: $79 per user per month, with accounting, purchasing and time billing included. The seat maths, trial terms and the limits its own pricing page states, checked 2026-08-03.

The whole price list

Design Manager is unusual in this category for publishing a single number instead of a tier ladder. Its pricing page shows $79/mo per user, and its FAQ removes the ambiguity that per-user pages usually leave: "Each user for Design Manager is $79 per month. For teams larger than 10, please contact our Sales team." There is no cheaper entry plan and no seat included free with a base fee — the first user costs the same as the fifth.

What the $79 includes

The pricing card lists the whole product against that one rate rather than splitting it across plans:

Accounting is the part worth pausing on. Design Manager and Studio Designer are the two products in this category that keep the ledger inside the project system rather than exporting to one. If your bookkeeping currently lives in a second tool and the reconciliation between them is the monthly chore, that inclusion is the reason to look at either.

Trial terms and commitment

The trial is short and unusually unconditional. Design Manager's FAQ says: "Our free trial is 7 days long. You get access to all of the features for that period so you can fully evaluate the platform." The pricing page adds "zero commitment & no credit card required" — worth contrasting with Houzz Pro, whose 30-day trial rolls into a stated 12-month minimum contract unless you cancel first.

Seven days is enough to test a workflow, not enough to run a real project through it. If you intend to evaluate seriously, have one live project's specifications, a purchase order and an invoice ready to enter before you start the clock.

The limit its own page states

One answer in the FAQ matters more than the price for anyone outside the United States: "At the moment, Design Manager is optimized for US-based firms. While it is possible to use it elsewhere, some features are not designed for that." Since the accounting module is the headline reason to buy it, a firm billing in another currency or filing under another tax regime should establish exactly which features are affected before committing.

Design Manager against the other accounting-native option

Read that table by seat count rather than by headline rate. Design Manager is the more expensive first seat and the cheaper fifth seat than Studio Designer Premier, and the simpler product to budget because there is only one number to multiply.

Where a flat-priced product changes the arithmetic

Per-user pricing is the right model when every person genuinely uses the whole system. It becomes expensive when the fifth seat belongs to a junior who touches specifications for two hours a week, because that seat costs exactly what the principal's does. If a built-in ledger is non-negotiable, Design Manager and Studio Designer are the honest shortlist and the seat maths above is the real comparison.
