About NYA

NYA is business software for interior designers and design-build firms: leads, proposals, product selections, client approvals, invoicing and permit-ready reflected ceiling plans in one workspace. It is priced flat per firm — $49 a month for a solo designer, $129 for a studio of up to five and $299 for unlimited seats — published on the site, with no minimum term and a 7-day trial you can cancel in one click.

Why it exists

The incumbents in this category share two habits we think are wrong. The first is per-seat billing, which taxes a studio for growing: at the per-user rates most platforms charge, a five-person firm pays two to four hundred dollars a month for software one or two people live in. The second is pricing pages that route you to a sales call instead of stating a number. We built the opposite on both counts, and we publish the seat maths so you can check whether the difference matters at your headcount.

Why business software draws ceiling plans

The odd thing about this category is that the drawing a permit reviewer actually asks for — the reflected ceiling plan — has always lived in a separate CAD subscription, disconnected from the selections, approvals and purchase decisions it exists to serve. NYA includes an RCP editor that exports dimensioned PDF sheets, so the lighting plan and the fixtures it specifies live in the same tool. If you want to know what an RCP is or how the tools compare, that research is public: what a reflected ceiling plan is and the honest software comparison.

Who builds it

NYA is independent and founder-run, built by Idan Mann. There are no investors steering it toward enterprise pricing, no sales team whose quota depends on gating the price, and support email lands with the person who builds the product. That structure is why the pricing can stay flat: the business doesn't need expansion revenue from your headcount to work.

Every guide and comparison on this site carries a byline because a person stands behind it. If a number is wrong, write to the founder directly and it gets fixed and re-dated.

What NYA includes today

  • Leads and a project pipeline
  • Proposals and estimates with client-facing approval
  • Product selections with per-item client approvals, fed by the NYA Clipper browser extension
  • A client portal with per-client permissions
  • Change orders, invoices and payments
  • The reflected ceiling plan editor with dimensioned PDF sheet export

Books stay in QuickBooks or Xero — NYA exports rather than replacing double-entry accounting. Where a competitor genuinely serves a need better, our research says so: Studio Designer if you want the ledger inside the tool, Houzz Pro if you want a lead marketplace.

The research

The pricing research we publish under Resources follows one rule: every competitor price is taken from the vendor's own pricing page on a stated date, linked as a source, and re-checked automatically every week. We sell a competing product, so the only way to be credible is to make every number checkable — the full process, including what we refuse to publish, is documented on the methodology page.
