Gather pricing in 2026: Spec Lite, Spec Pro and what each seat adds

Gather publishes Spec Lite at $99 and Spec Pro at $199 a month, each with one seat and $39 for every extra. The tier differences, seat maths and quote-only Premium plan, checked 2026-08-03.

By Idan Mann, founder of NYA

The short answer

Gather publishes two priced plans: Spec Lite at $99 a month and Spec Pro at $199 a month. Each includes one seat, and additional seats cost $39 a month on both. Spec Premium is quote-only. A five-person team therefore pays $255 on Spec Lite or $355 on Spec Pro.

All competitor prices on this page were taken from the vendor's own pricing page on August 3, 2026 and are linked at the bottom. Prices change — tell us if you spot one that has.

NYA competes with Gather. Every price and tier boundary below is taken from Gather's own pricing page, checked 2026-08-03. Gather is a specification and procurement product first, and this page treats it as one.

From Gather's pricing page, checked 2026-08-03. Both priced plans include exactly one seat, so a team's real cost is the plan price plus $39 for every person after the first.

What a team actually pays

Team sizeSpec LiteSpec Pro
1 person$99$199
2 people$138$238
3 people$177$277
5 people$255$355
8 people$372$472
Plan price plus $39 for each seat beyond the one included, computed 2026-08-03. The $100 gap between the two plans is constant at every team size, because the seat rate is identical on both.

That constant gap is the useful part. Choosing between Spec Lite and Spec Pro is a straight $100-a-month question about features, not a decision that gets more expensive as the studio grows — which is unusual, and in the buyer's favour.

What separates Spec Lite from Spec Pro

Gather describes Spec Lite as being "for teams who just need the basic specification tools for smaller projects" and Spec Pro as being "for teams who need advanced spec tools for large, complex projects." The capabilities its page lists only against Spec Pro are:

  • Collections and revision tracking
  • Items placed in multiple areas
  • Submittals
  • Custom instructions
  • Advanced data management
  • Spec package attachments
  • History
  • More user roles
  • Priority chat and email support, rather than Spec Lite's AI chat support

Revision tracking and submittals are the two that decide it. A studio issuing one specification package per project can live on Spec Lite; a studio whose packages go through client and contractor review cycles is buying Spec Pro whether it wants to or not, because tracking what changed between revisions is the job.

The trial rule worth knowing before you start

Gather's pricing page carries a footnote most vendors do not: "All trials include all features. You can downgrade your plan before subscribing if you don't need all the features." So the trial is a Spec Pro trial regardless of what you intend to buy, and the honest way to use it is to note which Pro-only features you actually reached for. If none of the nine above came up in a real project, Spec Lite is $1,200 a year cheaper.

Monthly cost in USD, computed from each vendor's published rate. Planify's $24.49 rate is billed annually at $293.88; month-to-month its pricing FAQ states $29.99 flat, and both include unlimited studio team members. Programa figures are its annual-billing rate (month-to-month it is $89 + $39/seat), and its page shows a bare $ with no stated currency. Houzz Pro publishes Pro at $249/mo after its 30-day trial, with one seat included and additional users at $60/mo; Custom remains quote-only. Design Manager charges $79 for every user with no tiers, and asks teams above ten to contact sales.

Gather at Spec Pro is among the more expensive first seats in the category and one of the cheaper additional seats, which suits a small team with deep specification work. What it is not is a CRM-to-payment business system: leads, proposals and invoicing sit outside the product's centre of gravity. Compare it with Programa on specification depth, and with the category pricing guide if the goal is to replace several tools at once.

Common questions

How much does Gather cost?
Spec Lite is $99 a month and Spec Pro is $199 a month, each including one seat, with additional seats at $39 a month on both plans. Spec Premium is quote-only. Checked on Gather's pricing page 2026-08-03.
What does a Gather seat cost?
$39 per additional user per month on both Spec Lite and Spec Pro. Because the seat rate is the same on both, the gap between the two plans stays at $100 a month no matter how large the team gets.
What is the difference between Spec Lite and Spec Pro?
Spec Pro adds collections and revision tracking, items in multiple areas, submittals, custom instructions, advanced data management, spec package attachments, history and more user roles, plus priority chat and email support instead of AI chat support.
Does Gather have a free trial?
Yes, and its pricing page states every trial includes all features with the option to downgrade before subscribing. That means you trial Spec Pro capabilities even if you plan to buy Spec Lite.
How much is Gather for a five-person team?
$255 a month on Spec Lite or $355 a month on Spec Pro — the plan price plus $39 for each of the four seats beyond the one included.
