Mydoma Studio was acquired by Studio Designer, and the two customer bases are being brought together. If you came to Mydoma because it suited a small studio, the thing to check before you settle is the billing model you are landing in: Studio Designer charges per user.

What actually happened, with dates

None of the pages ranking for this query tell you what actually happened to Mydoma, so here is the record — dates, sources, and what each side has said since.

That is the strategy in one sentence: Mydoma is the entry product, and Studio Designer — per-user at $69–$109 a month on annual billing, re-checked against its pricing page on 2026-07-30 — is where the parent company hopes you graduate. Nothing forces the move today, and no shutdown has been announced. But payments, onboarding and support already run on shared rails, so the sensible assumption is that the products converge over time — and the sensible response is to know your exit routes before you need one.

What to weigh before migrating

1. Cost at your real headcount, not the entry price. Per-user pricing multiplies; flat pricing does not.
2. What actually transfers. Ask specifically about client records, active projects, invoices and uploaded files — and whether the move is reversible.
3. Whether you need accounting at all. If your books are already in QuickBooks, you may be paying for the most expensive feature in the product and not using it.

What Mydoma's own docs say you can export

Mydoma's help centre is specific about what leaves the building, and the list is shorter than most people assume. As documented there (checked 2026-07-30):

• Product lists — any saved view in Products & Services downloads as CSV or PDF, project by project.
• Invoices — downloadable as CSV one at a time, via the menu on each invoice.
• Reports — orders, invoices and paid packages can be run as filtered reports and exported to CSV.
• Visualizer creations — floor plans and renderings can be downloaded.
• Permissions matter — Mydoma's docs note that if you cannot see the export options at all, your user role may not allow them. Run the export as the account owner.

What to ask Mydoma support before you commit anywhere

1. Can you send us a complete client-contact export? Importing clients by CSV is documented; exporting them is not.
2. Is there any way to bulk-download uploaded project files, or are we saving them one by one?
3. Can time entries and client messages be exported in any format?
4. How long do we keep read-only access after we stop paying?
5. If we move to Studio Designer instead, what migrates automatically and what gets re-keyed by hand?

The alternatives, matched honestly

• Staying on Mydoma — still a real option; it is sold and supported today at $58/user/mo annual. The risk you are pricing is not shutdown. It is that the product's roadmap is now set by a parent whose flagship bills per user.
